About The Role

The Portsmouth Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated and inspirational leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Principal: Analysis and Impact. This is a key role, leading on the academy's programme of analysis, assessment and curriculum quality assurance and ensuring our students achieve their very best.

With a proven track record in leadership coupled with a passion for promoting the highest standards of academic achievement, you will raise aspirations and drive improvement in teaching, learning and outcomes.

The Assistant Principal will ensure that the Academy’s core values of ‘Aspire, Achieve and Respect’ are lived by all staff and students and well supported by parents and carers. You will play a critical role in ensuring a ‘child first’ approach and supporting the Trust to deliver on its mission to transform life chances.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the academy’s programme of analysis, assessment and curriculum quality assurance
  • To create and embed a culture and ethos within the academy which raises the aspirations of students and helps them to become their best selves.
  • Contribute to the strategic school improvement plan and evaluate the impact of specific areas of responsibility
  • Support the delivery of the reading strategy, literacy and numeracy programmes
  • Monitor, promote and improve the quality of teaching standards, intervening where necessary to secure improvement

About You:

We are looking for a strong leader with:
  • A track record of driving student progress and achievement
  • Experience in leading assessment, data analysis and school improvement
  • High expectations for staff and students and the ability to inspire others
  • The ability to work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to uphold the highest standards of academic achievement, student behaviour and conduct
  • QTS status and recent experience of working within a Secondary setting and leadership team
